Kennecott Copper Mine In the Oquirrh
Mountains in the west part of the valley, see the Bingham Canyon
open pit copper mine, with a viewing area open year-round. Visitors
center open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. spring to fall. It’s one of
two man-made objects seen from the space shuttle. Know what the
second object is?
Olympic Park in Park City Just 30
minutes from downtown, Park City is the site of the Winter Olympic
Park. We also stop on Main Street in Park City (the site of Robert
Redford’s Sundance Film Festival) and shop with time permitting.
Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake
The largest of eight islands in the lake. The film at the visitor
center explains how the lake was formed. See bison, birds, white
sandy beaches, Indian artifacts and one of the oldest buildings
in Utah.
Gondola Tram at Snowbird Riding the
tram will take you 3,000 feet above the resort to a breathtaking
view of the mountains. Prices: $25.00 per person per tour: 3-person
minimum. Hourly charge available for 1-2 people. Tours take approximately
2 hours each.
